The view from the International Space Station (ISS) is truly spectacular. From orbit, astronauts are able to see a stunning panorama of the Earth below, including cities at night, weather patterns, and natural wonders like oceans, mountains, and deserts. The ISS orbits the Earth at an altitude of about 250 miles, which provides a unique perspective on our planet that is not possible from the ground.
Astronauts have reported that the view of the Earth from the ISS is both breathtakingly beautiful and humbling, as it gives them a sense of the Earth's fragility and the need to protect it. The view of space from the ISS is also awe-inspiring, with the blackness of space and the vastness of the universe stretching out beyond the Station. Astronauts have described the experience of looking out into the cosmos as a profound and life-changing experience.
