One of the most adventurous weeks of my life, fantastic and full of joy, shared in the company of a great friend. We climbed up and down these volcanic peaks, abseiling into narrow ravines and caves always looking for the perfect shot, extremely complicated compositions and truly dizzying points of view.
… but in the end, as usual, simplicity is never taken for granted.
Night fell on the top of this volcanic ridge plunging into the abyss below us, filled only by a white sea of clouds, we decided to pitch the tent and wait for the milky way to rise above the horizon.
So when I saw our galaxy showing itself perfectly aligned with the tent, the simplicity of such beauty was truly disarming and I decided to photograph that glimpse as simple as it was full of meaning.
After all, the vision of our galaxy and the entire universe before our eyes always has this effect, it gives us unique moments, it puts us in front of ourselves, relieving us of the load we carry with us every day.
It shows us the immeasurable by unequivocally clarifying our smallness and the insignificant extent of our problems.
It makes us naked and alone, finally receptive to the beauty of nature.
Landscape astrophotography has been a natural evolution for me along my photographic journey, in order to be able to experience these emotions by capturing them in the hope that they can last even more than a moment.
